Pumkins, Watermelons and Soil...Oh My!

I found out recently that it's not ever boys and girls dream to grow there own pumpkins and watermelon....Who knew?  It blew me away when I found this out, I always thought it would be the coolest thing to grow your own pumpkins for Halloween and also your own watermelons for the middle of the summer, when all you want to do after a good game of Ultimate is go up to your room and grab a fresh watermelon!  I am the kind of person that doesn't wait for their dreams to come true, I go out and try as soon as I can.  So one day when I was in Canadian tire I found some seeds (seen in the picture on the left) and that's when a tectonic photon blast began to burn inside of me.  By the time I got home I had already planned out the career path of my new favourite thing to spend time on.  A superdeduperty large problem arose, the problem was that by the time the little sprout-lings out grew their starting pots it would still be freezing cold outside and those little guys can't handle that kind of environment.  I came up with the idea of making an indoor box with a slide out bottom so once it gets warm enough outside I wouldn't have to re-pot, all I have to do now is bring the box out side (not an easy job its really heavy with all the soil) and place it on an empty area then pull the bottom.....SIMPLE RIGHT?  Well I don't know the answer yet cause the box is still up in my room but when I take it outside I will definitely lets all or you know (when I say all of you I am talking about Amanda, Kelsey and Laura :p since you three are the only ones that read this blog).  Unfortunately the plants haven't been doing very well and I think its because of where they are (not a lot of sunlight), also I have been spraying them with water, which after some research is a bad idea!  But a few days ago I found a light that wasn't being used and I have strapped it about a foot above the plants just to give them a little more light than before............Deductified

What Is Going On Here?

This is something that has be bugging me for a long time (11 years exactly), why is it that all the movie from the 80's and 90's are 10 times better than the movies today?  For example I would watch Ghostbusters over Inception any day, just the word particle makes me thing of the good old days of the particle accelerator (particle accelerators are the ghost busting packs that the ghost busters use), like when I hear dream I don't think about Inception, I think about all the bad movies of the 2000's that right at the ending you find out it was all a dream!  Ohh and when Ray thought about the Stay-Puff marshmallow man and it became a giant version and terrorized New York, that was awesome it puts a smile on my face every time!  And now there are all these remakes coming out, I don't know about you but I haven't seen one that is better than the original made in 2000 and up, Beauty and the beast compared to Beastly - Original Wins,  Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory -  sure Johnny Depp is cool but NO WAY Original wins,  Robin Hood (when he was a fox) to Robin Hood (Russell Crowe) -  That right Russell you got beat by an animated Fox Original wins!  I just watched Back to the Future Part I and Part II and that was the worst graphics I have seen in a long time but that didn't stop me from grabbing the blanket in suspense and yelling "Go Marty Go, You need to get back to the Doc quicker the time machine is ready!"  One thing I am glad about is Pixar has not been affected from the writers block of the 2 triple O's, everyone that hasn't watched UP and Wall-E and Toy Story and Cars and......everything ever made by them go now you can read the rest of this blog later!  Well that's all I have to say about this subject and remember "If someone asks if you are a god, you say, Yes!"...............Deductified

Have You Ever Thought What It Would Be Like If...

Have you ever thought what it would be like if instead of dogs as mans best friend seals took there place?  Just think of cuddling up to a seal on a cold winter night, you would be the warmest guy on the block with your own personal blubber powered heater.  Or what about a nice big kiss from a seal, think of how much that would tickle they must have the largest tongues ever!  Apparently seals love to go and lay out in the sun, finally I have someone to go tanning with!  The thing that I don't get is why no one else has ever thought of this? Like sure they weight a billion pounds and it may be a tad bit dangerous when you come home from work and it runs over to jump on top of you, but sacrifices must be made.  Its not like I don't like dogs I love my little Sushi but I just want to get some thoughts out there that as humans we should be more inviting to the other animals on the planet and not limit our selves.  Power To The Seals...............Deductified

With Great Boredom, Comes Great Progress.

I love animation but when it takes 2 weeks for me to make a 1 minute and 33 second long animation about angry fish, I get very frustrated!  So last night when I had nothing to do I decided to look into 3D animation, my search lead me to programs that are $500 and I am not willing to pay that much or even pirate that much I would feel horrible if I did.  Finally I found a program called Blender and it was freeware and everyone knows that freeware doesn't work, it makes you pay after 30 days! But I tried it anyways and there were no pop-ups asking me to buy it or anything I was so happy.  Blender is by the people for the people but they will accept donations, now that I found a free program I did research on how it compared to the expensive programs and other then the confusing user interface this thing is gold. Unfortunately my extremely early sleeping habits forced me to slumber until the next morning (today) and as soon as a heard a bird chirp outside I jumped from my bed grabbed my drawing tablet plus mouse and began a process of discovery.  The process was not fun at all and I started to get mad again cause it seemed like 3D would take even longer than 2D!  Well I pushed through the day and now that I am starting to get the hang of Blender making 3D image renders the next challenge is to start the animation stages.  After about 6 hours of work I managed to create a still image that might remind some people of an amazing movie but I will let you figure out which movie that is...............Deductified

What do pumpkins and time machines have in common?

Ever since the era of philosophers there has been a question that no man has been about to solve until this day!  The question is "What do pumpkins and time machines have in common?". The way I tackled the issue at hand was by waking up this morning and walked over to the window and that's is when it hit me like a ton of bricks, there was a green thing coming out of the dvd spindle cover with soil in it! You may ask what that green thing was and I am about to tell you, it was a pumpkin seed that has sprouted! Now that the pumpkin had been crossed out of the question I needed a reason to link it with a time machine.  Thats when I turned and looked at my poster of TerRover (I want to be TerRover for Halloween this year), Halloween is what the two have in common!  In order for me to have a full pumpkin I need a time machine to go into the future all the way to Halloween so that I can carve the pumpkin and everyone will say "what an amazing pumpkin you have" and then I will say "why thank you I grew it myself" and then everyone will want to be my friend! :)  Now where do I get a Time Machine?.........Deductified

Discraft, Daredevil or Wham-O

Ultimate Season is upon us! But what disc will be the perfect companion to your throwing hand? Let me go through the different companies and the pros and cons, alright lets get started.....

DISCRAFT :
Pros..........
Great distance flight
Straight under lip (great for flicks
 Official UPA Disc

Cons.........
Awkward to perform an outside curve
Lacks short distance stability
Poor Durability on pavement

WHAM-O :
Pros..........
Inventor of the Original Frisbee Disc
Great trick disc (street credit)
Recycled polyurethane (more street credit)

Cons.........
Large curve on the underlip
Lacks long distance stability
DAREDEVIL :
Pros.........
CANADIAN!
Perfect lip
Always Stable
Did I mention Canadian?
Cold Weather discs

Cons.........
Poor selection of designs
Lacks Durability on pavement
Not a trick disc

Of course the reason you need the disc will change which disc you purchase! In my opinion the Daredevil discs are the best all around discs for the game of ultimate and also as an all purpose disc and its Canadian! That right Canada always does it right! Also for people like me that want to play Ultimate all season round Daredevil makes a cold weather frostie disc which is made with a softer polyurethane so it does not shatter. Remember everyone keep your flicks up...........Deductified

Rogers Cable Vs. Antenna

Rogers Cable has become to big for there own good! Around 6 months ago Rogers over charged my cell phone because they screwed up my plan with my fathers plan, after 3 hours on there support line going through agent after agent who couldn't help me I finally reached a manager that reimbursed me for my money back.  I was disgusted with the time it took me to over pay them ever month, you could say I was on the edge with them and wanted to cancel everything.  Unfortunately there was no where else I could go, I had already tried Bell and it was the exact same thing, Something had to be done!  After a month of research into alternatives there was two ways to go, the first way is to override the cable limiter box that rogers places on the house and that looked like the answer to all my problems.  The way that the limiter box works is on the direct coaxial cable that is supplied to the house Rogers slices the cable and places a small box in between the wires.  All this box does is limit the amount channels you receive and also if they provide internet it will limit the speed. In order to override this box it must be opened and then one small wire must be cut, simple right? No, because the box has some special tool needed to open it so the I thought why don't I jut pry it open and be done with it. The box is property of Rogers Cable and if it is broken they can charge you for it or take you to court about stealing from them, I am no lawyer so this was to scary for me to even think of going to court, I'm only 18 this is not for me!  However because I want to help people I am going to give away the secret for getting away with the box option, The tool that is needed to open the box can be bought on ebay for around 7 dollars, next google how to cut the wire properly, then change your current cable and internet to basic cable and what ever the lowest internet is,  Rogers does make random visits that you might not even know about to check on the box if they see that your recieving to much they will come to the door and let you know about this and just say you didn't know and that you thought that was the normal (play it stupid). If they do come your right back to the top of this post because you will be paying to much for too little again and that is what brings me to option two.  Option two is an antenna and im sure this may seem like a ridiculous idea since most of you may remember getting up to the tv and adjusting the rabbit ears to get a picture and it still was fuzzy, I am to young for that but I do know a lot about the new ear of antennas and how they put Rogers Cable's picture to shame.  With the correct antenna and the proper placement the picture that comes in is the most beautiful HD I have seen!  There is a large amount of channels missing but its all the channels I dont watch, all of the major networks broadcast and I have never been affect by weather it is always coming in clear.  I live 60 km outside of toronto and I receive all of the major toronto networks and also the some from boston, a lot of research is needed to make sure your area will be appropriate for an antenna go to www.tvfool.com and this will show you which networks can be received from your location and which direction to point the antenna.  Okay now lets get into the hardware, in the end I ended up with the antennas direct clearstream 4 in my point of view this is the greatest antenna to exist, the size compared to other antenna of its calibre don't stand a chance.  Another good antenna manufacturer is channel master, I purchased a pre-amp from them which is another great purchase and RG6 cable all the way.  Currently I am running off of my antenna and also Rogers internet, if the show I want to watch isn't on the TV in perfect quality I will just download it hook up my computer to the TV and enjoy.  By doing all of this I am saving 50 dollars a month and also I am going outside more often because I don't have the option to channel flip and watch shows that I truly don't want to see!  If anyone has any questions about Antenna's please leave a comment and I will be happy to get back to you!................Deductified
